my sun burn hell..........

Howdy all

I've just read my last post and if any of you were wondering yes, I was still drunk when I wrote it, what a load of incoherant babble.... I was told last night that not only were we dancing to summer dance we were dancing to the birdie song, not only were we dancing but we were also singing the tune too.....jeepers creepers. Damn the free wine!

So last week, not much went on really, we went to mainland china one day for something to eat, I got the shrimp and crab cakes for starters, they were really good, I can't remember what I had for my main course, I'll not think about it and then I'll probably remember.

Brangelina are here, they've been in a tuk tuk twice and everything, ooooooooooo. I hope they don't close the buffet because of them.

Ben, Georg, Carl and Rob flew to Goa on Friday and we joined them on Saturday. Our Hotel left a little to be desired though the pool was nice.
On Saturday night we went to a restaurant called the treehouse for tea. As it was Ben's birthday too we asked the manager if he could get us a cake, they obliged no problems. The meal was really nice, I got paneer pakora for my starter, it was delicious and for my main course I got mixed fried rice which was also nice.
The bill for 2 courses for 8 of us, 2 bottles of sparkling wine, other drinks and the cake was only 4500 rs, it's well cheap in Goa kids, get yourselves there.

After the meal and the football we went to a really bad karokee bar, the singers were totally crap, it was painful to listen to....

On Sunday Ben and that flew home, we chilled by the pool in the morning and went to the beach in the afternoon. The beach was nice, we paid 100 rs to have 2 sunbeds and waiter service for drinks at a place called Brittos.
While the beach was nice the hawkers were not. I was losing my temper with them they really wouldn't leave us alone. I made the mistake of buying something and then they were swarming. The 'bouncers' from the bar had to get rid of them for us this was a momentary relief as soon they were back.
I was saying no, go away and stuff. Julie was getting really angry too, I turned to her and said Julie tell them and she said f*** off, actually this seemed to do the trick.
Stevie got an ice cream and it dripped all over him, Caroline got a head massage which she said was really nice.

When we left the beach we started walking back towards calengute and Stevie came across a liquour store, there was baileys for 1800rs, it's 2500+ in Pune so he got him and Carl a bottle each. We walked a bit further and then ot a taxi back, stopped at a bag shop, there was none that I liked, I've a specific bag in mind and won't buy anything else, much to their dismay.

We also stopped at a tibetian silver shop, well 2 actually. I got a toe ring a silver bangle a matching necklance and anklet and a green jade bangle. I've wanted one for ages and now I've got one for life....I can't get it off without really hurting myself! I got one stuck half way on in the shop then managed to winkle another on, you know my shovel hands....anyways its stuck, I can get it off but I still have internal bruising or something from the original attempt so t's too painful to try just yet.

I called my mum to check up on a place to eat on Sunday night what with her being the Goa tourist board.... Anyway a place called Bernards was recommended, she said we could even get a roast pork dinner with apple sauce. I said that out loud stevie started beaming so that's where we went. After 10 weeks or however long it's been the thought of a roast dinner was too much to pass up. It was delicious by the way, me caroline and stevie got 1 and Jules got some fresh landed Salmon.
Needless to say we went back there the next day for a full english with, wait for it, PORK SAUSAGES, not chicken PORK, food of the gods i tells thee.

My back is absolutely killing me and my bra is proper chafing so I'm leaving it to the last minute before I put it on, I was in agony last night. Julie said I should put some yogurt on it, we had some in the fridge, it was applied liberally (it really hurt soo as it was so cold) and on touching my skin it instantly turned into cottage cheese, minging. Today it's still proper burning, we don't understand why when I was wearing factor 30 sunscreen from boots...

When we landed yesterday we broke all records for getting back from Mumbai, it only took 3 hours usually it's more like 4.5 to 5 hours, the traffic is terrible. We decided to get dropped off at the Ship for some tea and drinks, I got the steak, as usual, well it's really nice though I forgot to ask for no mushrooms or sauce so I had to scrape them off but no harm no foul.

Back to work today, on the night shift, boooo!

oh dear

howdy from Pune

Last night got very messy and I'm not talking about our apartment floor........I went to bed at 8 am after seeing in the dawn on the roof and making 7 rounds of pancakes for everyone. I do not feel well just now......

when Ben first got here Stevie D thought it would be really funny if he put Bens ID card in water ad freeze it. It was funny, but not for Ben as he couldn't find his pass for a couple of days and he then had to thaw it out.
Well last night was pay back.

We had our most lairyest night in the Meridian yet. The free wine was flowing, it's a challenge to get to the bottom of your glass before they fill it up for you. Neil is our hero as he managed it twice, in fact Stevie D managed it once too.

Anyway, back to the payback......We were al very drunk, Ben Carl Caroline Amanda and Kerry had been on nights so when they came in at 3 am they were in a position to take advantage of our Stevie. He went to bed and fell asleep and Ben snook in with his clippers and Carl followed with Bens camcorder and Ben shaved a chunk out of Stevies hair, it's all on film and really funny to watch.

I'd been looking forward to my shepherds pie all week only to find that the taste of europe buffet was over and it was replaced by a Mediterranean palette. It wasn't all bad as they had some delicious caramelised roast potatos and the chicken kebab which is the best chicken ever. They also had Tiramisu for pudding along with a custard thing which smelt awful but came in a cool pot which I stole, I'm getting as bad as my mother.

I knew that we'd had too much wine when I asked the waiter to fill a large tumbler with wine and we smuggled it into the bar. We danced to summer dance, they don't do spanish flea I'm afraid Sandra. And I drove a tuk tuk home.........this was after trying to smuggle a glass of wine out of the hotel itself, I got caught and had to down it at the door.

Like I said oh dear.........

We're going shopping for a change today!! There's a nice jewellers down Koregon Park that we want to go to and we need some kitchen roll too.

We've booked our flights to Goa for next weekend and we'll be sorting the hotel out today. I'm very excited...soon it'll be time for Singapore....

shepherds pie.....mmm....mmm....mmmmmm!!

Ahhh the graduation. Fortunately we were spared our Timewarp rendition thanks to Oxley's quick thinking, we just ended up doing a twirling dance ont the stage. The show the agents put on was rather good, they were all dancing and everything.

We left the party to get changed and go to the buffet at the Meridian. They are currently having a taste of europe buffet with free wine of course. When we got there we spotted shepards pine and roast beef and yorkshire puddings, mmmmm. The shepherds pie was gorgeous so was the roast beef. Regrettably the yorkhires were minging, way too heavy.
We stayed till we were turfed out, I mean they stopped serving the wine and we retired to the bar to take in sumer dance.

On Saturday I didn't really do much during the day, in the late afternoon I went to the Meridian, met paul and Oxley and we had a couple of drinks. I bought a quiche to take away and came home. There was a big night out for the Cardiff guys, they are leaving tomorrow, so we were all to go to high spirits a club just by the apartments.
Unfortunately, that quiche did not agree with me at all and I was rather poorly. I decided to stay in and be boring, but I really felt better for it on Sunday.

I went to the sparkling wine buffet with Paul on Sunday, after we went to the bar and watched the ryder cup. Rob, karin, diane and carl and oxley turned up not long after and we waited for the others to arrive before going to the chinese for a meal.
We got hold of summer dance's play list and a stack of request cards and filled them all in. They do a brilliant version of eye of the tiger (?!).

The chinese was a disappointment, again and I'm not going there again. I got a nice starter bbq lnd chops, they were really tasty and the bbq sauce was real not some spicy stuff like they have everywhere else. My main course came, lemon chicken. It was like someone had melted a pot of lemon cheese and poured it over some chicken, it was minging. Oh and I was ill after, for a change.

On Monday we went live. I was going to work 10 - 10 but there was an autocef related trauma and I missed my car and ended up working 16 hours, man I was tired.

I made up for it on tuesday though, I only worked 2 -7. After work I went to the ship with Paul and Keith and Oxley came after work. I had the steak as usual but this time with an egg on it.

Today I'm home after a regular shift and taking it easy, I've got the apartment to myself, a beer and the fugitive is on, bliss.......

gooooooooooo

Top of the morning to you folks

The graduation came and went without the Timewarp I'm pleased to say. My agents did their performances, I had to give some certificates out, the the GPP agents did theirs and Karin gave there certificates out and we thought we were in the clear........
Karin had just sat down when Hazel called all the SMEs onto the stage, I gave her the CD as we walked up and we stood there in a line, 10 of us, like rabbits in a cars headlights. The song didn't start so after a few minutes I was grabbed by Oxley and we did a triwling dance and then got 2 more of the SMEs to take our places and so on till we'd all had a go. Phew!

After we managed to get away from the dance party that was after the ceremony we went home to change and then onto the buffet at the Meridian, you know the one with all the wine you can drink.
They are doing a tastes of europe one at the moment, guess what they had...........roast beef, yorkshire puddings and shepherds pie. We couldn't believe it. We sat in Vijay's section so we were always full of wine and we dug in, the shepherds pie was gorgeous, the roast beef was lovely but the yorkshires were minging. We had our fill of wine and retired to watch summer dance.

On Saturday I went to the meridian for a few beers in the day and got a takeaway quiche from the coffee shop. I ate it when I returned home and it was delicious. Regrettably approximately 20 minutes later I was horribly ill and missed the night out.....

Sunday I was feeling very refreshed and up for the sparkling wine buffet so off I went. After lunch we went to the bar where we watched the end of the ryder cup. Before we knew what time it was summer dance were playing. We got their play list and a stack of request cards and kept them busy.

A meal was planned for the evening in the chinese at the meridian. I had some really nice lamb chops in a proper bbq sauce for starter and for my main course I got lemon chicken and shared some noodles with caroline. The lemon chicken was awful, it was like someone had melted some lemon cheese and poured it onto the chicken.

Monday came and it was go live. I planned to work 10 - 10 to cover both shifts. Regrettably due to an Autocef related problem I missed the 10 pm car and ended staying till 0230.....

Not to worry though as I only worked 2 - 7 yesterday. After work I went to the Ship and had a few beers and pina coladas and a steak with egg on and mashed potatos. mmmmm

I wonder what today will bring. We are currently looking into going to goa next weekend for bens birthday. We are looking for lowest cost option but no one else seems to be interested in a 12 hour bus ride for only 600 rupees.......

It's been almost a week since I've posted and a lot has been eaten!

I was going to update last night but t'internet wasn't working.......

On Saturday night we went to the Ship for drinks and then on to Scream, the club in the Meridian. We left there around 2am and went back to the apartments for a partay. I retired to my bed at 6:15 in the a.m. after listening to proper cheesy choonz. we were having a good time till carl put kelly clarkson on......I never realised he was into teenage angst!

On Sunday Me and Amanda went to the Ship for lunch at 3 pm, I was too hungover to fully appreciate the free sparkling wine buffet at le Meridian. We had steak, medium, and it was delicious. We, like lush's, stayed all day and most of the night so we also had our tea there. I shared some chicken pieces with Oxley. They came with a 'powerful cajun sauce' Oxley tried it and said it was rather tame. I tried it and must have got all the chillies in 1 mouthful, man I needed a drink......the chicken was nice though and Naush brough me some ketchup so all was well with the chicken.

On Monday we went to 1000 oaks and it was the best meal ever. I had fish fingers to start with, they were even better than captain birds eye's. For my main course I got paneer tikka masala, boy was it hot, yet delicious. And dessert was divine, it was a sizzler plate with a chocolate brownie on it smothered in chocolate sauce with ice cream on the top of it....mmmmmmm.

On tuesday we went to the Meridian and had a club sandwich and a few beers, the night was a total wash out as summer dance weren't playing, I love summer dance....??!

On Wednesday we went back to the italian. Carl had bet me that he hadn't had ravioli the last time we went when he did. When he read the menu he realised and he was gutted. This time I had marinated chicken and melted cheese on toasted bread for starter, tortellini with I asked for a bacon sauce but it came with an olive and tomato sauce which was well spicy but very nice (after I'd picked the olives out..) I got chocolate mouse cake for dessert which I didn't like, however, the poor cake didn't stand a chance with Jules by my side.......

Yesterday we went to curve again. I got the paneer tikka with carl, I love it soooo much, regrettably, it doesn't like me very much..........I then got a paneer pizza (I've gone paneer mad!). After a few drinks me ben carl rob oxley and caroline went to ten downing street for more drinks as we're not in work today.
Carl was lighting sambucca shots and sticking them to his forehead, Ben tried it too. We got tuk tuks home. Ben and Carl both had a turn driving ours, it was so cool. I'm going to have to try one day.

Tonight it our graduation. It's a 70s and 80s theme. The agents and that will be dancing and stuff. We've been forewarned that we'l be dragged up on stage. We've prepared a rendition of the Timewarp to do fo them.......Carl has the best pelvic thrusts...........

byeeeee

I'm back

Hi y'all. I've not updated for a while, I've been well busy at work and well lazy at home......

So what have I been up to? Had a nice Italian (meal) last night. It's the one by mainland china, I saw it when we went to Lush first of all. Simon has been a couple of times and said that the ravioli is to die for, so we went and most of us had ravioli, I chose a bacon and onion tomato sauce for mine, and it was to die for. mmm mmm mmm.
I got tiramasiu for pudding which wasn't very nice. Alex got cheesecake, you know that he has an aversion to cheese. I chose this time to break the news that cheesecake is made from cheese, needless to say he didn't enjoy it...hee hee hee!

There were 9 of us and we got in 3 tuk tuks to drive home. We decided that we would race, my tuk tuk was the guy from pune central with the boom box in the back, the trip was crazy.

We were the last to set off but overtook the other 2 tuk tuks on Koregan Park and we were in the lead until Steve overtook us. we were right on their tail when we got to the bumpy part of the road near our apartments. Our driver went for a death-defying take over move but we hit a bump just as the othe tuk tuk hit a bump and we colided....there was no actual crash or anything, but it was really funny, Gav was holding on to the side of the tuk tuk and nearly lost his hand....

On Thursday after work we went to Curve at ABC farms we were lured in by the wood burning pizza oven. Me and Carl got pizza caroline got some stuffed jalapenos and oxley got some stuffed chicken. After we'd finished all that we got some paner tikka, it was totally divine, paneer is my new favourite thing.
When the check came it had our food and 37 beers and it was only 3650 rs (about £43) you can't go wrong.

Last saturday when Ben, Carl and Caroline arrived we went to the Ship for a quite night as they were on the tired side. We had beers and cocktails and they had the steak and then we went back to our apartment at closing time. We listened to my cheesy music and partied till about 5am.
Needless to say that we did not fully appreciate the Meridian buffet the next day due to our hangovers.
We hadn't booked any cars for Sunday so we walked to the end of our road to get a tuk tuk to the hotel. There were none, the first time ever there wasn't any waiting. We started to walk towards ABC farms where there are usually tuk tuks. we got half way there, walking in the searing heat of the midday sun, and fortunately a tuk tuk came by and stopped what a relief.

I've just booked my holiday. As I'm here for so long I have to take a weeks break. Work will pay for a flight home or elsewhere. I've booked to go to Singapore for a week. I've booked my hotel and a morning glory ming river boat ride. I'm going to go on a duck tour (amphibious truck) and a cable car ride to Sentosa Island and I'm also going to see if I can get a cheap flight to Kuala Lumpur for a day trip, the cheapest I#ve seen so far is £141.

I've had a nice chilling day today. Julie and Kerry have had to go into work so I've been able to stay home and not suffer another forced shopping trip. I've watched Kelly's Heroes and ordered in a pizza hut. cool. today I got a 4 small pan pizzas in a box. I got 2 paneer tikka masala a haryali chicken and a chicken tikka for 282 rs, delicious.

Georg has come down from Mumbai for the weekend today along with some folks from cardiff. there's also some new guys coming and some old guys returning. Not sure what's happening tonight.........but there'll be drink!

chip.......shop.......chips..........

Sorry Joanne for not keeping up with my food diary, here's some more........

I have the bestest news ever from tindia......There's a cafe not far from the apartments that does chip shop chips, me sooo happy. The chips are even better than those from Family Friends!

On Monday after I finished work early, like a right skiver, I went with most folks to ABC Farms, it's a collection of restaurants and bars all together. We headed to the Sheesha Cafe (I think that's what it is called) for some tea.

I ordered Chicken Shenzel (150rs!), it was 2 medium sized chicken schnitzels really, quite tasty. There were vegatables on the plate and everything (they are on the rare side here). I asked the waiter did it come with chips and he nodded, when the plate came there was a massive splat of soggy mash so I was quite disappointed. However, a couple of minutes later he brought me a plate of chip shop chips, mmmmmm they tasted soo good. I am now going to go there on a regular basis for chips.

The best thing about this place, apart from the chips, is the Kingfisher, a regular bottle is only 70rs. It's well cheap.

Yesterday I made 2 hours back from my skive and finished work at 10pm. Me, Paul and Chris stopped off at the Ship for something to eat. I got chicken strips in sweet and sour sauce, I was expecting 2-3 decent sized chicken strips (like at KFC) and a pot of sauce. I didn't think this would fill me so I ordered some garlic bread and cheese and some wedges.

The chicken came first and it was a dish mounded high with small chicken strips already in sauce (it was yummy).....the garlic bread with cheese came next, 6 slices, then came the wedges the same size portion as the chicken. Needless to say I couldn't finish everything....though I did try. It was washed down with 2 large Kingfishers all for 750rs. You can't go wrong.

Working 2-10 today, intregration is looming and the process may be changing a bit too. Hiren keeps joking that I need to apply for citizenship......................
